Train Comes Back With Another Great Album

Train's done it again. Most people wrote them off before their last album My Private Nation in 2003 when original member Rob Hotchkiss had left the group. Then, after that tour, another original member, Charlie Colin left the group, leaving only lead singer Patrick Monahan as the lone original member. However, For Me, It's You sounds just as great as other smooth mellow Train albums. The title track, as well as the hit "Cab" are really worth the listen. I was also surprised that despite losing a key songwriter in Colin, the lyrics are still rather intelligent, including the lyrics in the great the song "Give Myself To You". These guys were mentioned back in a previous post as being one of the greatest live performances I've seen. I'm sure that with this new album, these guys would be more of a Tigerland/small venue band than the larger Green Coliseum in Hattiesburg. Train will never be an "arena" band, but their tone of their songs just sound like the kind you like to sit around in a coffeehouse and listen to. I am still exploring this album and getting to know the musical in's and out's of some of the lesser known tracks that make Train so good (the "not single" tracks, "Mississippi", "Lincoln Avenue", "I Am", and "Hopelessly" are among Train fans as well as my favorite songs by the group- very uncommon for top 40 groups). Anyway, give this album a listen- great for any occasion.
