Late Night Music Saints Superbowl Championship Edition Part 29..............."That's What Friends Are For"

Basking in the Saints historic victory, we have to think about how teammates can really win championships together. So many times in music, teammates have recorded together and brought each other to the forefront of music together. Some of the greatest songs ever performed and/or recorded have been by two great artists who combined for a fantastic effort that we will always remember. Duets only on this list. This was a tough one- sorry if I omitted one of your favorites.

Also receiving votes in this category were "Chances Are" by Martina McBride and Bob Seger, "When You Believe" by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey, and all of the boy band "duets". NOT receiving votes in this category was anything by Chris Brown.

Mary J Blige and Andrea Bocelli- "Bridge Over Troubled Water". From this year's grammys with an intro by Wyclef Jean, this Haiti benefit was a true instant classic. While this could have technically been included in our "Odd Couples" category, these two bring the best out of each other so much it had to be included. Not a big fan of Mary's dress or hair on this song, but this is truly a memorable live performance. Andrea Bocelli is incredible- some doubters in the opera scene call him overrated, but I beg to freaking differ.

Whitney Houston and CeCe Winans- "Count On Me". for my money, Whitney Houston's best non "Bodyguard" song. This collaboration with cousin CeCe Winans was the exclamation point on the critically acclaimed "Waiting to Exhale" soundtrack. This song marks another great female song written by "songstress" Babyface.

Luther Vandross and Beyonce- "The Closer I Get To You". Kind of a forgotten one, but this re make of the Donny Hathaway/Roberta Flack classic from 1978. Beyonce started showing her true repertoire on this song. Seriously, is Luther gonna sing with someone who is a scrub? Great video that of course has to feature Beyonce.

Celine Dion and Clive Griffin- "When I Fall in Love". Ok never been a big Celine Dion fan, as most of you know, but I LOVE this song from "Sleepless in Seattle". Clive Griffin hit pay dirt by riding the coat tails of Celine Dion for his only hit on this song. These two should have made some more duets, because I think their blend is spectacular. Bonus points for the Spanish subtitles on this one.

Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle- "A Whole New World". One of my personal favorites and a spectacular duet performed by myself and Holly Haynes Jones in high school, that while good, doesn't match up to this one. However, like always, I chuckle when I see Peabo Bryson's hair- did the guy ever know what decade he was in? I'm glad he's figured it out now that I see him on late night infomercials selling multi-CD collections of R&B love songs. Regina Belle never looks at the camera in this video.

Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder- "Ebony and Ivory". This song rode the "anti-racism" movement of songs in the late 70s/early 80s. These two mega stars were a perfect match, however, this song has got to be one of the most repetitive songs ever. Seriously, one verse and one chorus repeated over and over- that's it. You would think with two song writers of this quality they could have come up with more!

Alicia Keys and Adam Levine- "Wild Horses". Great duo here with the lead singer of Maroon 5 and Miss Alicia Keys from her "Unplugged" album. I love every version of this song ever made. Always been one of my favorites.

Rihanna and Ne-Yo- "I Hate How Much I Love You". Okay song, never really got into Ne-Yo. However, Rihanna is hot- bonus points for her all day long. She's single now guys- take it easy on her.

Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole- "Unforgettable". Still, for my money, the best duet ever.
