Roman Harper Out for Season

The Saints announced today that second round draft pick and starting safety Roman Harper is out for the season with a torn ACL. He will be replaced by Omar Stoutmire. A solid tackler and coverage safety, Harper performed very well in all 5 games he appeared in, starting all 5. Harper, a former Alabama star, made an immediate impact moving up the depth chart in training camp. Stoutmire, while a more than able backup, lacks the size and power that Harper brought to the field. We all hope Harper can recover and get back on the field next season.

John Cena On a Roll

Fresh off his defeat of Edge at WWE Unforgiven in a tables, ladders, and chairs match to regain the WWE Championship, John Cena is on a roll. Friday, his movie The Marine hits theatres. Last night on the season premiere of Monday Night Raw Cena took on the Undertaker only to be interrupted by the Big Show and Booker T. Earlier in the night, it was announced that Cena would take on both champions in a triple threat "champion of champions" match at WWE Cyber Sunday. Cena continued dominance and alliance with D-Generation X is making Cena the most unstoppable force in the WWE.

Saints Fall to 3-1 After Tough Road Loss

The Saints wasted a dominated 2nd quarter and a 346 yard performance from Drew Brees to fall in Carolina Sunday 21-18 in a see saw battle that was a game of momentum. After getting off to a slow start allowing the Panthers to score on the opening drive, the Saints dominated much of the rest of the game taking the lead 10-7 on Deuce McAllister's TD run that was set up by Reggie Bush's 37 yard catch. However, a costly fumble by Bush as well as dropped passes by Bush and a mishap on a handoff proved to be very costly for the Saints. Brees connected with Marques Colston for an 86 yard TD with under 2 minutes left, but the ensuing onside kick that was recovered by the Panthers did in the Saints. While the Panthers are a very good team, the Saints still outplayed them for most of the game and really let this game get away. While they continued to the good gameplan and ferocious effort, the execution just wasn't there like it was in previous games. The Saints return to the dome this week to take on the Tampa Bay Buccanneers.
