Late Night Music Leap Year Edition Part 125.........."Can You Feel The Love Tonight?"

I know I've done songs about "Night" but never about the current night- actually quite different. I can't believe I let that one slide by me! Also, wanted to let everyone know that this is also my first ever "Late Night Music" written on my new HP Pavillion 17.3 inch screen laptop! YES! Thank you Uncle Sam!

In order to receive votes in this category, the SONG TITLE had to feature the word "TONIGHT", so unfortunately, despite it's awesomeness, "Your Love" by The Outfield was disqualified. Also receiving votes were "Tonight Is The Night" by Outasight, "Tonight" by Alex Band, "Tonight's Music" by Katatonia, "Tonight" by Room 94, and "Oh, Tonight" by Josh Abbott Band.

"It Ends Tonight"- The All-American Rejects. What a great song to start this list with. The All-American Rejects closed out the singles from their second album "Move Along" with this "eff you" song which, contrary to popular belief, was written about a former male friend of the band. I love how Tyson Ritter makes his videos so literal because at the end of this video, it literally "ends tonight". This song peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2006, and was the last single for 2 years when the band released "Gives You Hell" as the debut single off of their smash album "When The World Comes Down". Also, I keep forgetting these guys are from Oklahoma- something about these guys just screams Florida Panhandle.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfdAGkjHGac

"Tonight"- Elton John. This song right here has always been one of Elton John's most underrated, unknown, and under appreciated. In 1976, I guess Elton got sick of being awesome and just having plain jane #1 albums, so he released his critically acclaimed and musically spectacular concept double album "Blue Moves", which was his first on his new label Rocket Records. This song has an uncommonly long piano opening with orchestral arrangement, even by Elton John standards, save for maybe "Funeral For A Friend". (also off a smash double album, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road"....I smell a bonus video). This song is also uncommon at the way it is written- I can't think of many Taupin/John songs that are written in such a second person manner. The tone of this song is so one on one to the point that you could easily see this song being featured in a play. While this song was never released as a single, it's remained a fan favorite, and was covered by George Michael for the "Two Rooms" tribute album. Great live performance here from 1977.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwCewqlq-eE

"Can You Feel The Love Tonight?"- Elton John. Ok, I broke my own rule, but when you're Elton John, you can have your own set of rules. Elton John deserves everything he's ever gotten, but I honestly think he should get on his knees and thank Tim Rice and Disney every day for catapulting his career to a new freaking level again in 1994 when he struck gold with "The Lion King" and hit #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 with this song, not to mention taking home the Academy Award for Best Original Song (when he had THREE songs nominated in the category!!!!!!! WOW!). Doesn't this song just make you wanna be Simba?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fx6GU8e3PUg

"Tonight"- New Kids On The Block. Yes! I got these guys on here again! Maurice Starr's favorite "white kids" project. You all know how I'm a huge supporter of NKOTB, but do you REALLY have the right to record a song like this after just ONE studio album (that was re-released nonetheless after a lackluster debut). Just always struck me as kind of vain. Anyway, this song from their mega album "Step By Step" went to #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1990, and had this very popular video. When this song was released, New Kids were the most popular act on the planet, and it's crazy how they fell that far off in such a short amount of time- it still baffles me. This is also the ONLY New Kids On The Block song where all 5 members sing lead vocals.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTo3N73hpPg

"Goodnight Tonight"- Paul McCartney and Wings. I love how Paul McCartney pulled a Beatles move in 1979, when this song was supposed to be included on the final Wings album "Back To The Egg", but was left off and went as a standalone single- a move all to typical of the fab four, where it went to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, in a typical McCartney "get a random idea and run with it" move. Paul wanted to include a disco style song with a flamengo guitar riff on it. Yeah, I know.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRCgueckAXE

"Tonight, Tonight"- Smashing Pumpkins. This fourth single from Smashing Pumpkins 1995 smash hit album "Melon Collie and The Infinite Sadness" peaked at #36 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1996, and to me, was always one of their better songs. However, this video seen here would go down as one of the most famous videos ever made, taking home the VMA for Video Of The Year in 1996 at the MTV Video Music Awards. The funny thing about this video, is that the band originally wanted to do a video for the song with the people diving into champagne glasses, but scrapped the idea when they found out the Red Hot Chili Peppers were doing the exact same thing (I smell a bonus video). What they got was this video based off the 1902 French "Sci-Fi" silent film "A Trip To The Moon".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOG3eus4ZSo

"In The Air Tonight"- Phil Collins. For the last freaking time, THIS SONG IS NOT ABOUT A GUY PHIL SAW LETTING A GUY DROWN!!!!!!!! Man I hate when people act like they are a music trivia genius and say that- SHUT UP! This song is about Phil's failed marriage and his thoughts towards his ex wife at the time, which is what the entire 1981 album "Face Value" was about, as it was also Collins' first solo album, with this being the first single, which remains his most famous, despite only peaking at #19 on the Billboard Hot 100. The video received heavy airplay in the early days of MTV, making this song a household favorite.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkADj0TPrJA

"Save Tonight"- Eagle-Eye Cherry. This song kinda gets on my nerves just because Eagle-Eye Cherry is so stupid. This lead single from his debut album "Desireless" (tell me about it) reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and made Eagle-Eye Cherry one of the biggest one hit wonders ever, as even his famous parents couldn't get him another hit. However, I do love the fact that he plays so many characters in the video, was actually pretty original at the time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nntd2fgMUYw

"Tonight Tonight"- Hot Chelle Rae. I caved in- can't help it- I love this song! This lead single from Hot Chelle Rae's sophomore album "Whatever" reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2011, but was easily one of the most popular songs of the year. I am gonna also say that it's super cool if you're first ever top 10 hit has the name Zach Galiafinakis in it and doesn't suck- that's pretty impressive. The question is, in 30 years will anyone know who he is?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzlNFcT2aOE

"Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)"- Enrique Iglesias. Don't worry, it's the edited version........EARMUFFS!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UecPqm2Dbes

"Tonight"- FM Static. FM Static is a Toronto-based Christian band and this song featured on their 2006 album "Critically Ashamed". Despite not much radio or tour promotion, this video has a staggering 13 MILLION views.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbFlHd1GP1w

"Tonight"- Seether. I keep forgetting that these guys are from South Africa. Really good live performance from "Conan" here. This song from their 2011 album "Holding Onto Strings Better Left To Fray" went to #1 on the Billboard Active Rock Chart. I know it's wrong, but Shaun Morgan looks like he's singing with a tootsie roll in his mouth.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amttpEpQvMc

"Tonight"- Nick Jonas and The Administration. Don't even laugh because this song and this side project band for the Jonas brother himself is pretty freaking awesome. I've said it 1000 times, if you get the Jonas Brothers out of their bubble gum/kids genre, you're gonna have a really good band, and I think you see glimpses of that right here. Nick Jonas actually "covered" his own song, as this song was originally recorded by the Jonas Brothers from their album "A Little Bit Longer" and peaked at #8 in 2008, and no it won't be a bonus video- I HATE their version. However, I think this version is actually a little better just because of the jazzy feel to it. I'd really like to see Nick Jonas just focus on this band and play this kind of music, kinda like his version of Michael Buble's "Just Haven't Met You Yet" which was featured on "Smash" Monday night- I'm telling you, this guy is about to blow up even more.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9kEkJLnv4g

"Tonight I Wanna Cry"- Keith Urban. I'm sorry, I can't stop looking at his amazing hair. Also, I'm gonna take away bonus points for them actually filming a wine glass with no napkin under it on a freaking grand piano. Any piano player knows that you would never do this. Plus, this video is so freaking literal, but NO WHERE do you see a "bottle of wine", but only a lonely glass about to tip over into a grand piano- lost me on that one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Czb5P_pw8Fc

"Let's Kill Tonight"- Panic! At The Disco. This song from Panic! At The Disco's latest album "Vices and Virtues" is just as confusing as ever, but man these guys are so freaking awesome! I love how this song has a horror movie feel, while still keeping with the PITD trademark sound. I guess this could be their own personal "Thriller". I'm just begging Brendon Urie to look at the freaking camera!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu2XSQgdQDY

"How Do I Love You Tonight?"- Sisqo. This fan favorite song from Sisqo's debut solo album "Unleash The Dragon", is about literally "Unleashing The Dragon" in a very adulterous way......why do I like this song so much?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hnhi9awHj7c

BONUS VIDEOS- "Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding"- Elton John. Live version of the 1973 classic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAhpIjazFN0

"Aeroplane"- Red Hot Chili Peppers. This idea that the Smashing Pumpkins never stole won them a VMA.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vV8IAOojoAA

"Your Love"- The Outfield. You know it had to be on here.

Late Night Music Part 124......."Baby I'm Down To My Last Teardrop This Time"

I have to admit. I cried when I found out today of the passing of baseball great Gary Carter. As usual, it made me think of a list. How many times can tears bring about some great songs just because of the emotion that goes into both crying and writing? If you think about it, they can be very closely related, as some of the best music ever written were pinned by artists suffering great personal loss.

In order to receive votes in this category, the SONG TITLE had to feature the word "tear" or "teardrops", and the verb "tear" was automatically disqualified for obvious reasons. Also receiving votes in this category were "Trail of Tears" by Billy Ray Cyrus, "Tears Are Falling" by Kiss, and "Tears" by Tinie Tempha.

"Tracks of My Tears"- Boyz II Men. In 2007, Boyz II Men released what would be their second of their 3 "cover albums" as the group was transitioning to being a 3 person act after being known for years as a quartet. "Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA" featured all covers of Motown hits, with this spectacular cover of the Smokey Robinson classic as the lead single from the album. This single and album were produced by "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, and this track reached #26 on the Billboard R & B Chart despite and online exclusive video and not much marketing outside of the group's TV appearances. I'm not one to say that people can do Smokey better than Smokey, but this cover, at least to me, is much better than the original. Interesting fact about this album though, Boyz II Men actually did a "cover" of their original song "End Of The Road", which was the biggest Motown single release in the album's history.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnDnqEdjPNM

"Fistful of Tears"- Maxwell. Wow! What a performance in this grateful and almost sarcastic breakup song from Maxwell's much praised 2009 comeback album, "BLACKsummer's Night". Despite this very powerful video, this song only wound up at #94 on the Billboard Hot 100, but is a true testament to the true talent Maxwell possesses as one of the most underrated artists in recent history in any genre. The lyrics to this song, in particular the first verse, are some of my favorite lyrics to any song ever. It's that good.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KabCkV_oW48

"Tears In Heaven"- Eric Clapton. After the very public and very tragic loss of his 4 year old son in 1991, Eric Clapton wrote what was probably his most emotional song ever. Featured in the soundtrack of the 1993 movie "Rush", this single shot to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and won Clapton the 1993 Grammys for Best Song and Best Record. The acoustic version of the song was also very popular, as it was featured on Clapton's multi-platinum live album "MTV Unplugged". The video, seen here, won the award for Best Male Video at the 1993 MTV Video Music Awards. This song marked a huge turning point for Clapton, as his next single (and next hit) was the Babyface co-written "Change The World" from the John Travolta film "Phenomenon".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxPj3GAYYZ0

"Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall"- Coldplay. I always love when I can put my man Chris Martin on these lists. Coldplay is one of my favorite bands! This lead single from their latest album "Mylo Xyloto" was famously played at the memorial service for the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs. I think this video is also super cool because so many bands today don't take the time to make cool videos any more just due to the decline of music videos, but Coldplay never disappoints. This single peaked at #14 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was nominated for two Grammys at this year's awards. I would kill to have Chris Martin's permanent stubble. That guy is amazing. Man, this song is so exhilarating!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyMhvkC3A84

"Here Come Those Tears Again"- Jackson Browne. Here's one singer that a lot of people forget about, but is one of the greatest ever despite that. This single from his 1976 hit album "The Pretender", like most of the album, is inspired by the suicide of his wife earlier that year. This song went on to hit #28 on the Billboard Hot 100, but remains one of Jackson Browne's most famous songs. Like most of the album, this song is so catchy and is one of those songs that just keeps you singing all day. The popularity of this album also led to the success of his much anticipated and Grammy nominated album "Running On Empty".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzNo7Ol4zTA

"Each Tear"- Mary J. Blige featuring Jay Sean. This title track from Mary J. Blige's 2010 album "Stronger With Each Tear". (even though the album had a "double title track" because of the release of the single "Stronger"....just sayin) is one of my favorite MJB songs, but I have to say I'm not a huge fan of this duet with Jay Sean which was the exclusive UK Version of the song. Jay Sean is a pretty good singer, but it just shows how Mary can make anyone better when they are on the track with her. However, even Mary couldn't save this track as it only peaked at #183 on the British Singles Chart, while going to #1 in Italy (with Italian singer Tizziano Ferra singing the duet). Is Jay Sean really that bad? I really love Mary's look from this album, as she continues to age gracefully.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xvash3C5G9c

"Too Many Tears"- Whitesnake. I guess Whitesnake didn't get the memo when they released this song off of their 1997, yes 1997 album "Restless Heart". I'm all about groups having long careers, but at least look like you're not stuck in the 80's! Whitesnake is kinda cheesy when there isn't a hot chick dancing on a car. This song, not surprisingly didn't chart.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9G_97GRUXc

"96 Tears"- ? And The Mysterians. This one hit wonder from 1966 took the world by storm with this 1966 classic that went all the way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, making ? and the Mysterians the first ever Latino rock group to have a #1 hit in the United States. However, not surprisingly, they were never heard from again. Do gimmick acts ever last?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7uC5m-IRns

"Lonesome Tears"- Beck. Beck is so cool man! This video for the non-single (really?) track off of his mega album "Sea Change" shows the true mood of the entire album, which some consider Beck's best ever. The album is famous for being one of two albums ever to receive the coveted five star rating from Rolling Stone Magazine, and features, as usual, Beck playing several instruments on the album, some in a somewhat experimental manner and featuring orchestral arrangements that are evident on this track. Beck will go down as one of the greatest artists of all time just due to his pure creativity.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWe6bMVvTzk

"Diamonds For Tears"- Poets Of The Fall. Believe it or not, this is the second time this hard rock band from Finland has been on here. I love how Scandinavian music has such a regal tone. This second single from their 2008 album "Revolution Roulette" peaked at #13 in Finland, but featured this very strange video that makes me think I'm watching a really bad Stephen King movie. I'm always fascinated by Scandinavian music, in particular groups from Finland because the sound is SO FREAKING distinct, completely different, and completely unheard outside of Europe, but is other worldly popular in Finland. Really cool to think about.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9Rl8WMqejc

"The Salt In My Tears"- Dolly Parton. If I could have any cougar, it would be Dolly Parton.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOzNJ9quibc

"Tears Dry On Their Own"- Amy Winehouse. I was never a huge fan of Amy Winehouse, but this song was super catchy and really has a good sound. This song from her 2006 final studio album "Back To Black" get bonus points right away for sampling the Marvin Gaye/Tammi Terrell song "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". The song was a hit in the UK peaking at #16 on the British Singles Chart, while making just a small ripple in the US. I'd like to think that if Amy Winehouse hadn't had such a tragic life that she could have really had a successful career with talent like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojdbDYahiCQ

"Teardrops On My Guitar"- Taylor Swift. I know you guys are gonna give me crap, but I really like Taylor Swift! I know she's cheesy and a tad bit annoying, but she's super talented and really writes some catchy lyrics. I hate how people complain when she gets awards and call her "overprivileged"- never got that one. This single from her 2006 self-titled debut album peaked at #2 on the Billboard Country Charts and #13 on the Billboard Hot 100. This song is cleverly written about a boy Taylor had a friendship with that always talked to her about girls, but she all along she was really in love with him. She even goes as far to use the guy's real name in the first verse, as "Drew" was really her friend Drew Hardwick.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKCek6_dB0M

"Down To My Last Teardrop"- Tanya Tucker. The namesake of this one. Tanya Tucker was one of the biggest country acts in the world in the late 80's and early 90's and was a tabloid magnet for her very public and very outrageous relationships- most famously with recent Grammy honoree Glen Campbell and "Miami Vice" star Don Johnson. I see this video and I ask myself how any of that happened. She was super hot, but her voice just annoys me. Anyway, pretty good song here that was featured on her 1991 hit album "What Do I Do With Me" and went to #2 on the Billboard Country Charts.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YplH9jhwNHA

"Tears Don't Fall"- Bullet For My Valentine. This single from this Welsh Hard Rock Group's 2006 debut album, "Poison". In a very clever ploy, the album was released on Valentine's Day 2006 in the United States as play on the band's name. I like this song, and the chick in the video is SUPER HOT but I'm not a big fan of the raindrops falling instead of the tears. I hate that comparison!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sTQ0QdkN3Q

"Black Tears"- Hands On Approach featuring Ana Free. While we're on foreign bands, Hands On Approach and Ana Free are both stars in Portugal, with this powerful duet being featured on Hands On Approach's latest album "High And Above". Call me crazy, but this band really really really reminds me of Maroon 5. Ana Free also really reminds me of Demi Lovato, but you know me. I may be alone in that one. Super awesome song though. I love seeing international bands singing English.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3WzDp-1ZwE

BONUS VIDEOS- "Days Of Our Own"- Hands On Approach. Another great song from HOA.

Late Night Music Part 123......"R.I.P. Whitney Houston"

With the loss of one of the greatest singers of all time, I felt it all but appropriate to dedicate tonight's list to her. I had not done a tribute list in quite some time, and I given the circumstances, I find it pretty appropriate to make this list about one of the greatest singers to ever walk the face of the earth. I do ask however, that no one complain about songs that were left out. I picked my favorites, and if one was left off I can promise it is not intentional.

In a very rare "Late Night Music" feat, all songs receiving votes in this category were included. There is no honorable mention when it comes to Whitney Houston.

"Saving All My Love For You". In 1985, Whitney Houston took the world by storm with the release of her self-titled debut album. The record breaking album went on to sell a staggering 13 million copies and popped out three Billboard Top 10 singles, including three straight #1's. Whitney would go on to have SEVEN consecutive singles go to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100- which broke the record previously held by the Beatles. No one has even come close since. The first in that famous streak was this song which was actually a cover song of a pretty unknown song from Marilyn McCoo in 1978. This song also won her the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Performance and the American Music Award for Favorite R&B/Soul Video, both in1986.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewxmv2tyeRs

"The Greatest Love Of All". Later on that same album, Whitney released this song which was originally recorded by George Benson in 1977, a version that was featured in the 1977 Muhammad Ali documentary "The Greatest". The song was also famously written by Linda Creed, who wrote the song in the middle of her battle with breast cancer. The song went to around the same time Creed lost that battle. This video has always been a favorite of mine- I love the way she carries herself in this video- may have been her sexiest look ever- but that's just me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYzlVDlE72w

"I Wanna Dance With Somebody". The funny thing is that the main thing I remember about this song is how the animatronic robots at Chuck E. Cheese used to sing this song as part of their show. I don't know why I remember that. This single, which was her follow up to "The Greatest Love Of All" and the lead single from her highly anticipated sophomore album "Whitney". Continued her #1 single streak and received the Grammy for Best Female Pop Performance.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH3giaIzONA

"Where Do Broken Hearts Go". This infamous video was quite controversial despite the single going to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1988. The video was so taboo that she was booed by the audience at the 1989 Soul Train Awards when the song was nominated for an award. Just watch the video and you'll figure out why. Whitney showed though that she was not willing to conform to stereotypes and has to be the first black female artist to openly be involved with a white co star even in a music video or movie (more on that later).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yvsU4SNWPA

"All The Man That I Need". In 1990, Whitney Houston finished her debut album trilogy with "I'm Your Baby Tonight". The success of the album would launch her into film roles that she would sing on the soundtracks of for the majority of the decade. Surprisingly, Whitney would not have another studio album for 8 years after this album's release. In 1991, this single from the album reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and famously performed that same year on "Saturday Night Live". This was actually the third recorded version of the song by an artist, but none of the other versions managed to chart.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WH1Ma50QUk

"I Will Always Love You". Okay, I realize that most of you need no introduction to "The Bodyguard", but Whitney Houston's debut film role alongside Kevin Costner in 1992 drew much criticism from film critics (and rightfully so, quite possibly one of the stupidest plots of a movie I've ever seen- no matter who was in it- however the criticism of her having a white love interest in this movie is beyond petty and extremely reaching in my opinion because of the jealousy of the success of her career- again, like I said, Whitney Houston was probably the first black female star to break stereotypes of all kinds), but the soundtrack was and still is one of the best selling albums of all time, and no doubt just as famous. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Album, and this single won the award for Best Record, and despite my previous joking about it, all of those awards were pretty much slam dunks. Whitney is pregnant actually with her daughter Bobbi Kristina in this video. Notice you do not see Whitney's stomach. This song also held the record for most consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 until it was dethroned by Boyz II Men's "End Of The Road" 2 years later.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14ivtcelIo0

"I Have Nothing". This is, however, my favorite song from "The Bodyguard". This is the first song on this list to NOT be #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, as it peaked at a lowly #4 in 1993.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxYw0XPEoKE

"Count On Me". After taking a break after the birth of her daughter, Whitney returned to the big screen to star in the film adaptation of the Terry McMillan novel "Waiting To Exhale" with Lela Rochon, Loretta Devine, and Angela I will set your car on fire Bassett, which featured a soundtrack of songs completely written by Babyface and included Mary J. Blige, Brandy, Aretha Franklin, TLC, and Toni Braxton, and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. However, my favorite song from the soundtrack is this one which peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and featured a duet with gospel legend CeCe Winans.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXttyNf8zv0

"I Believe In You And Me". The following year, Whitney starred alongside Denzel Washington, Courtney Vance, Gregory Hines, and Loretta Devine in the Christmas family movie "The Preacher's Wife". This remake of the Four Tops single from 1983, peaked at #4 for Whitney in 1996 and catapulted the soundtrack to "The Preacher's Wife" to become the best selling gospel album of all time. This is also one of my favorite Christmas movies and at least to me, is her best performance in a dramatic role.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQGt6VNm_iQ

"Who Would Imagine A King". I really wish I could find a clip of this song being sung in the movie by the children and Whitney Houston. Great moment.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYGu0dwl4Hk

"When You Believe". It wasn't until 8 years later that Whitney would release another studio album with the release of "My Love Is Your Love" in 1998. Included on this album was this amazing ballad with Mariah Carey which was another Babyface written song featured on the soundtrack to the 1998 animated Dreamworks film "The Prince Of Egypt". This unbelievable track won the Oscar for Best Original Song at that year's Academy Awards, and this is my second favorite look for Whitney in this video. I wish she would have kept her hair like this. Despite this song's popularity, it only peaked at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAM2-hg7xJs

"My Love Is Your Love". This title track from the same album has always been one of my Whitney favorites. Featuring some assistance from her 5 year old daughter Bobbi Kristina, and became a favorite of Houston's in Europe (from where this performance was taken) while reaching #4 in the United States on the Billboard Hot 100.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n5A6ZCXuis

"Same Script, Different Cast". Oh man! This song is SO underrated. Released as a promotional single duet with Canadian Soul Starlet Deborah Cox, this song which never had a video peaked at #70 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was released to accompany the release of her 2000 Greatest Hits Double Album, which I am proud to say I definitely own. Just think this song would have been a cool concept for a video......actually one of my biggest disappointments in music is the lack of a video for this song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVh0_DQtwyU

"Love That Man". In 2002, Whitney released her penultimate album "Just Whitney", which upon its release was her best selling album ever in opening weekend sales, and still holds the record for best opening weekend sales by any solo artist. This song has always been my favorite from the album, despite never making it on the Billboard Hot 100 (but reaching #1 on the Dance Charts).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGrWTTuNJoU

"I Look To You". Without a doubt, Whitney's most powerful song ever. This title track from her final album cannot be sung without giving me chills. Despite only making it to #70 on the Billboard Hot 100, this song is a true testament to the power of Whitney's music and amazingness of her soul. I truly hope that you can see this video and have it as a everlasting memory as to the true angel that was Whitney Houston.

"Star Spangled Banner"- The famous rendition from Super Bowl 25. The circumstances surrounding the anthem were unbelievably stressful as the United States had entered into the first Gulf War just 10 days prior.
