Late Night Music Capital City Classic Edition Part 116................"Take Cover!"

Have you guys figured out how much I am obsessed with cover songs yet?

In a "Late Night Music" first, I did not limit the entries to recorded studio tracks. All cover songs of any time were given consideration. Also, all songs receiving votes were included in the list.

"Hey, Soul Sister"- Angel Taylor (originally by Train). Angel Taylor gives a great impromptu cover of this very hard to sing Train song. I have a hard time believing she's just 23! Just look at the way she carries herself! That's an awfully mature voice as well. I'm really looking forward to one day seeing Angel Taylor live, as now I know she does cover songs- bonus points for that. I'm also really looking forward to her follow up to her debut album "Love Travels". I'm gonna give her a bonus video just because I feel like it.

"Use Somebody"- Pixie Lott" (originally by Kings Of Leon). Here's another artist I literally just found tonight. Pixie Lott is a superstar across the pond, as her first two singles went straight to #1 on the UK Singles Chart in 2009. This track from her debut album "Turn It Up", actually peaked at #41 on the UK Singles Chart despite not being released as a single. I love the acoustic twist. It's always interesting to hear females do songs sung by males. I've enjoyed listening to Pixie Lott tonight, now if only the rest of the singers from the UK were as hot as her. For more of her, check her out at www.pixielott.com.

"Breathless"- Taylor Swift (originally by Better Than Ezra). I remember when Taylor Swift played this at the Haiti special (which is seen here), and I was super pumped that not only a BTE song, but my favorite ever was being covered by such a visible artist. I've always wished Better Than Ezra got more publicity than they do, and at least this track at least got their name out there a little bit. Unfortunately, Taylor Swift has yet to put this song on an album, but performs it lives quite often as well as BTE's song "Our Last Night"- that's awesome that she's such a huge fan! By the way, Better Than Ezra's album "Before The Robots" is not only a super cool concept, it's a super cool album.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xA84qKxqEd8

"Message In A Bottle"- John Mayer (originally by The Police). It's actually quite surprising to see such a talented songwriter and performer cover any song, even if it is coming from a great band. Apparently, this first #1 single for the Police is a live favorite for John Mayer and is included on his live album "Any Given Thursday".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbXWrmQW-OE

"Wonderwall"- Ryan Adams (originally by Oasis). Hey David Jennings- you have the best version of this song, so why don't you lay it down? Anyway, I seriously understand why Ryan Adams wanted to cover this song because in 1996, you seriously were not cool if you did not have Oasis's "(What's The Story) Morning Glory?" which featured this song. This version peaked at #27 on the UK Singles Chart, and was featured on Adams 2003 album "Love Is Hell". The former Whiskeytown front man is one of those anomalies who seems to be more popular in the UK than he is in his home here in the US- I never quite understand that one........but just look at Michael Jackson.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAPtTS0TYtU

"I Turn To You"- Christina Aguilera (originally by All-4-One). I hate that All-4-One never got any credit for originally doing this song for the "Space Jam" soundtrack. Now why was this song even on that album? I have no idea. There was even a video made for the song, but the track just never caught on. Then, you just look at All-4-One and you realize why. I know I use this a lot, but I'm serious when I say that All-4-One is the most ridiculous looking band of any sort in music. Nothing about them is believable despite their talent. Songwriter extraordinaire then pitched the song to Christina Aguilera where it peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 being featured on Christina's self-titled debut album. And you really expect me to believe it was because Christina Aguilera was that much better of a singer than them?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4q05resEvc

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bjXtZxnokA

"Love Moves In Mysterious Ways"- Nina (originally by Julia Fordham). Ok, this one was even more obscure. Michael English was the biggest Christian act in the world in 1993 when his album "Hope" and him basically swept the Dove Awards in 1994 before his extramarital affair scandal derailed his career (and he still hasn't recovered). However, HE DID NOT ORIGINALLY DO THE SONG despite what people thought (including me). The song was actually originally done just a year before by British one hit wonder Julia Fordham who, in my opinion, gives the worst of all the peformances. This hidden gem of a song was later covered by Fillipino superstar Nina for her 2005 live album "Nina Live!" with the performance featured here. I'm gonna go ahead and include the Michael English version too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bjXtZxnokA

"What Goes Around"- Priscilla Renea (originally by Justin Timberlake). This is one talented chick. I featured her a few entries back, and I'm super glad I got to put her on here again. Before the release of her debut album "Jukebox", Priscilla Renea made a viral name for herself with videos just like this. Like Angel Taylor, Priscilla Renea is super talented at such a young age and so mature as a singer and a songwriter. She is on the verge of really becoming a well known talent in the music industry. For more on Priscilla Renea, check out www.priscillareneamusic.com or follow her on twitter @priscillarenea. Oh yeah, Justin Timberlake is a better actor than singer- just wanted to get that out of the way.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsMXxBkJ7Vk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOrnUquxtwA

"I Go Blind"- Hootie and The Blowfish (originally by 54-40). Good grief the original version of this song by Canadian band 54-40 is so bad! Hootie did these guys a favor when they recorded this song for the soundtrack of the TV series "Friends" and for their compilation album "Scattered, Smothered, and Covered" in 2000. I'm gonna put this song in the early lead for greatest amount of a better song between the cover and the original, and it may wind up not being close.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eeFHdL2FBM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMZSSVt355I

"I Melt With You"- Bowling For Soup (originally by Modern English). Bonus for the lyrics change! Bowling For Soup recorded this song for the Disney Movie "Sky High" in 2005 (the soundtrack actually featured all 80's cover songs done by current artists). For a few years, Bowling For Soup made a living with songs like this, as this song was included on their compilation album "Bowling For Soup Goes To The Movies" which featured all tracks they had recorded for movies, TV shows, and video games. What a life.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDOPlf0uAmM

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuN6gs0AJls

"Sweet Child O'mine"- Sheryl Crow (originally by Guns N' Roses). I'm torn on this one, but I'm gonna give the slight edge to Sheryl Crow just because she's hot and because she had enough sense to leave a moron like Lance Armstrong. While the Guns N' Roses version from their 1988 album "Appetite for Destruction" reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but the Sheryl Crow version for the Adam Sandler hit movie "Big Daddy" earned the Grammy for best Female Rock Peformance in 1999. Makes a valid argument.......just sayin.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFU9qBEvEVw

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1w7OgIMMRc4

"Syndicate"- Taylor Willis (originally by The Fray). Here is a youtube video I discovered tonight, and boy what a pleasant surprise. I'm gonna go ahead and call youtube superstar Taylor Willis a genius just because she's a left handed guitar player. (Paul McCartney, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain......um......um........ Babyface). Also, I love when someone goes opposite primary instrument on a song even if it is the same "genre". I'm super impressed that she took a piano song and does it so well on the piano. Check out some more of Taylor Willis's videos at www.youtube.com/eternalheartspeaks or follow her on twitter @tdubbsie.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRbe_atEUKk

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSx5zNhmi3c

"Good Life"- Corey Gray (originally by OneRepublic). Corey Gray is another guy I just discovered tonight and I was instantly impressed by his intonation on a very difficult lyrical, but still catchy song. Covering songs like this that reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 (#8) and are played at exhaustion on commercials are very difficult, as you have to really do the song and the artist justice, and I really think he did! Check out more of Corey Gray at www.facebook.com/coreygraymusic or @coreygray1 on twitter.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gCUIpICRP-0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZhQOvvV45w

"A Day In The Life"- Mae (originally by The Beatles). This song got on back to back lists! That's a rare one. This track was added on the special edition of the 2005 Mae album "The Everglow" and has been a concert staple of the band, who actually tried to do the song exactly like the Beatles, and got freakishly close considering they were trying to cover the greatest band of all time. I freaking love Mae- they get a bonus video too.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6vjSPDptrc

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-Q9D4dcYng

"Michael Jackson Medley"- Sam Tsui. Un. Freaking. Believable. I'll just let you watch this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R12QVtuB0_Q

BONUS VIDEOS- "Goodbye, Goodnight"- Mae. From their debut album "Destination: Beautiful".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ip5Pw3uENEc

"Spinning Wheels"- Angel Taylor. Unreal song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=790DIbDaYqY

"Bacon And Eggs"- Priscilla Renea. Just because this song plays in Sprint all the time. From her debut album "Jukebox".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VmUZcU173E

"Turning Tables"- Taylor Willis (originally by Adele) this girl is on FIYA!

Late Night Music Part 115......."So What's This Song Called Again?"

How often are you caught wondering what the title of a song is when you don't know what it is? Then when the title isn't even mentioned in the lyrics, how often do you find yourself scratching your head wondering HOW that's the title? Tonight's list salutes those songs that where the writer just HAD to be different. Some call it artistic, some call it stupid. Nonetheless, it's fun to talk about.

Ok, this was a tough one. Any song with the word "song" or "ode" or anything else musical in the title was disqualified- those are just too easy. So "Adam's Song" by Blink 182 and "Song 2" by Blur were disqualified. This would also include "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen. I promise I'll find a way to get it on here sometime. Also receiving votes in this category were "Superstar" by the Carpenters, "Epic" by Faith No More, and "Fade To Black" by Metallica. I didn't wanna get sued by James Hatfield.

"Scenes From An Italian Restaurant"- Billy Joel. In 1977, Billy Joel was one of the top acts in the world as his mega album "The Stranger" would win the Grammy for Best Album that same year. Surprisingly though, the most popular song among his fans and his longest song ever was this gem which is actually 3 songs fused together into 1. Billy Joel stated that the famous Beatles "B Side Medley" from "Abbey Road" was a huge influence for this song, which is freakishly similar to the Beatles 1969 composition. I almost didn't count this one, but it's the only borderline song we'll have tonight. Really good live performance here from 1984.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=au74rR9lIYQ

"Detlef Schrempf"- Band of Horses. This song from Band of Horses' 2007 album "Cease To Begin" was written as a tribute to our favorite white basketball player, German Detlef Schrempf. Well known for his philanthropy and charity work, the band wanted to pay tribute to this with this song, although no mention of his name is anywhere in the lyrics. This song was never released as a single, but remains one of the bands most famous songs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=za71GzDQJ2c

"Baba O'Riley"- The Who. Go ahead and admit it, you thought the name of this song was "Teenage Wasteland".....I know I did. This lead track from The Who's 1971 album "Who's Next" (and a dang good one if you ask me) was named after their band influences Meher Baba and Teddy O'Riley. This song remains popular at sporting events across the world, and gets 10 million bonus points for being the opening song for the Super Bowl 44 halftime show The Who performed at halftime of the Super Bowl the Saints won. Oh man! I smell a bonus video!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2KRpRMSu4g

"Australia"- The Shins. I've heard this song literally 2000 times and I had no idea that the title of it was "Australia"- I think it's kinda cool when bands do that. This song from The Shins 2007 album "Wincing The Night Away", and gave us a video that makes me think I'm watching a local car dealership commercial. The Shins kind of remind me of a cross between Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco......oh yeah- more on them later.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHTSxw6zN1E

"Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand"- Primitive Radio Gods. I remember when this song came out in 1996 from the Primitive Radio Gods major label debut album "Rocket". This song, which makes absolutely no even allusions to the title, hit #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart and was run in the ground by shows like Casey Kasem and Rick Dees. Besides the title being confusing, I think the band prided themselves on confusing us more with the video featuring the London phone booth in the middle of a airport runway.......wow I'm confused. Big bonus points for sampling B.B. King's "How Blue Can You Get?".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1piLRStP7xE

"For What It's Worth"- Buffalo Springfield. In 1967, Buffalo Springfield (which included a pre-CSNY Neil Young and Stephen Sills), had to get in on the "protest the Vietnam War" movement with this song which became the band's one and only hit from their self-titled debut album which peaked at #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band, however claimed that the song was written in protest of the Sunset Strip Curfew Riots in 1966 and not the Vietnam War, but you can seriously tell me anything.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gp5JCrSXkJY

"Santa Monica"- Everclear. Here is a band people forget about a lot of times, but they still were one of the better bands of the 90's. This song from Everclear's 1995 album "Sparkle and Fade" was actually never released as a single, but was played to death by so many radio stations (including Y101 and Z106 in Jackson), that it reached #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay Charts in 1996. Despite the upbeat nature of the song, the background of the song actually comes from Art Alexakis's high school girlfriend committing suicide by jumping off the Santa Monica pier, and his feelings from that experience.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MW6E_TNgCsY

"A Day In The Life"- The Beatles. This song was the perfect ending to the perfect album. As the last track to the Beatles mega album "Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", it remains one of the most famous songs of all time by any band, and was actually one of the last songs that John Lennon and Paul McCartney actually wrote together (although all of their compositions contained both of their names due to a childhood pact they made in elementary school). Like so many songs on this list, this song was never released as a single, but gained popularity just due to it's awesomeness. This was also the favorite song of my late friend Anthony Shams. Can't listen to this song without thinking about him.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-Q9D4dcYng

"Iris"- Goo Goo Dolls. This hit song from the soundtrack of the movie "City of Angels" and from the Goo Goo Dolls 1998 album "Dizzy Up The Girl" was actually named for folk singer Iris DeMent because lead singer Johnny Rzeznik saw an article about her in Billboard Magazine and thought that it would be a cool title of this song. This song was instrumental in breaking Johnny Rzeznik's writer's block after 4 years of inactivity, and propelled the Goo Goo Dolls back into the mainstream when this song peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdYWuo9OFAw

"That Green Gentleman"- Panic! At The Disco. Speaking of the devil- do these guys have any song with the title in the lyrics? This song by the always eccentric Panic! At The Disco does a good job as usual, of being a great cross between the hobbits of "Lord Of The Rings", oompa loompas, and the little people from Nickelodeon's "David The Gnome". I guess just due to the first line, this is the "title track" from the album.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3f3K2sEHuIM

"The Last Resort"- The Eagles. This epic final track to the Eagles 1976 mega album "Hotel California" makes a final statement in a very personal and political album. I hate I can't find the live version from their 1994 reunion concert "Hell Freezes Over" because it might be their best live track ever. (I smell a bonus video). While the song was never released as a single, it was released as the B-Side to the 1977 single "Life In The Fast Lane". Don Henley also said the song was one of his favorite just due to his environmental activism.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekytTpFy96o

"Jumper"- Third Eye Blind. This track from Third Eye Blind's 1997 debut self-titled album rode the waves of its appearance on MTV's "Road Rules" when it was featured in one of the missions. It went on to be released as a single and peak at #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998. The inspiration for the song actually came from the band hearing the story of a gay teenager jumping off a bridge to commit suicide after being bullied at school. It's amazing that 14 years later, this is still an epidemic in America.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FXU3RuX8eo

"The Scientist"- Coldplay. SO MANY BONUS POINTS FOR THE REVERSE VIDEO! I freaking love reverse videos! This song from Coldplay's 2002 album "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" was actually written after Chris Martin was inspired by the George Harrison song "All Things Must Pass" (I smell a bonus video). Also, "The Scientist", according to Chris Martin, is Dan Keeling, the A&R rep from Parlophone who signed them to their first contract. This song peaked at #18 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqWLpTKBFcU

"The Weight"- The Band. I have to admit, I like the Staple Singers version better (once again, I smell a bonus video! But I'll go ahead and feature them in this from the Band's live concert film "The Last Waltz" here). This song, about "taking the load off" makes no mention of "the weight". The song was featured on the Band's 1969 album "Music From Big Pink", and is one of the most covered songs in music history.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjCw3-YTffo

"Cherub Rock"- Smashing Pumpkins. In 1993, you weren't cool if you didn't have Smashing Pumpkins hit album "Siamese Dream". This last single from the album, was widely popular and was written by Billy Corgan about the indie rock community's relationship with the mainstream media. You know to be so awesome, Smashing Pumpkins were always one of the stranger looking bands- really gonna disagree on that one? This song gets tons of bonus points for being on "Guitar Hero 3".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-KE9lvU810

"My Immortal"- Evanescence. VERY. FREAKING. WEIRD. At least Amy Lee is hot.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5anLPw0Efmo

BONUS VIDEOS- "SUPER BOWL 44 HALFTIME SHOW"- The Who.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNdAvKzGsQg

"Heart Of The Matter"- Don Henley and the Eagles. From "Hell Freezes Over".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nw9jiaNI6P0.

"All Things Must Pass"- George Harrison.

Late Night Music NBA Lockout Edition Part 114........."State Your Peace"

Just thought that since I had done cities, I should do states. It was literally that simple. Plus, I was so behind, I really needed to put something out seeing how I went the entire month of October without a single entry- yikes!

In order to receive votes in this category, the SONG TITLE had to include the name of a US State- this unfortunately, would disqualify "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. Also receiving votes in this category were "Mississippi Queen" by Mountain, "My Head's In Mississippi" by ZZ Top, "Mississippi's Crying" by Payton Rae, "Midnight In Mississippi" by Blue Mountain, and "Mississippi Girl" by Faith Hill. See a pattern on that one?

"Arizona"- Priscilla Renea. I am so glad I found an excuse to put Priscilla Renea on here! Ever since recently hearing her music for the first time, I seriously can't stop listening. Despite not reaching lots of commercial sales yet, her debut album "Jukebox" has been critically acclaimed, and has several songs that play in constant rotation at Sprint. I've let a few people listen to her and they all thought they were listening to Rhianna- and I could see that. Bonus points in this song for naming 3 other states besides Arizona.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXA_SSo2bUU

"California Dreamin'"- The Mamas And The Papas. In 1965, the Mamas and the Papas got on the hippie train as official spokespeople for the "let's move to California because it's cool and we want to be rebellious phase" that took over the country. With their debut album "If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears", this lead single which peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 made everyone want to move to the West Coast, even though not a single member of the band was from California and one wasn't even American. Whatever sells right? With that being said, the Mamas and the Papas were pioneers in the fact that they were a mixed gender band before they became more common in the late 1960's. Also, band member Cass Elliott was also one of the first and still one of the only "plus size" women to become big in the music industry, and the rest of the band almost didn't let her in just due to the perceived bad press from having a larger woman in the group. Oh yeah, I can't listen to this song without thinking about Forrest Gump for some reason.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-aK6JnyFmk

"California Girlz"- Katy Perry featuring Snoop Dogg. To quote my good friend John Lassiter "Katy Perry.......what a disaster". I can't say I disagree, but this lead single from her second major label album "Teenage Dream" was not only a worldwide #1 hit, it's for some reason being played in the Superdome during Saints games. Call me old fashioned, but if I see a video about California, I don't see expect to see a cross between Candyland and Burl Ives Rudolph The Rednosed Reindeer. Even Snoop Dogg can't save it at that point.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F57P9C4SAW4

"California Girls"- The Beach Boys. Who would have thought that one of the funnest songs of the 60's was written by a Brian Wilson LSD trip? Ok, I was joking. This 1965 song off of The Beach Boys album "Summer Days (And Summer Nights!)" hit #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the most popular songs of the 60's, even directly influencing the Beatles 1968 song "Back In The USSR". Also, any time you make an appearance in "Rush Hour 2" and "Rush Hour 3" you know you've arrived! My question has always been how many of the Beach Boys were actually surfers? Do they look like surfers to you?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Fviwc3YeG8

"New York State of Mind"- Billy Joel. Ok this one is tough, because many people thought he was talking about the city, but if you listen to the lyrics, we're gonna give it to the state. This song from his 1976 album "Turnstiles" was literally written as he was "taking a Greyhound on the Hudson River Line" which was taking him back to New York after 3 years in Los Angeles. This move back to NYC proved to be very important, as it marked the turning point in Billy Joel's writing career, as he soon became one of the top acts in the world after back to back Best Album Grammys for "The Stranger" and "52nd Street", which would come out the following years. Even though this song was never made much noise as a single, it remains one of Billy Joel's most famous songs and a crowd favorite.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZh8YjbDiVk

"Why Georgia"- John Mayer. This one was tough because the song is almost like he's talking to the state of Georgia like a woman. I counted it just because of the reference to I-85 which goes right through downtown Atlanta- so sue me. Anyway, this song from John Mayer's debut album "Room For Squares" is about Mayer's time in Atlanta and his dealing with himself about the success of his career. Ok sorry, I've already had enough of this video- I hate watching John Mayer sing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uhYn7ryaWNE

"Sweet Home Alabama"- Lynyrd Skynyrd. Sorry, I went there.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C29Fs-WNIrg

"Texas Tornado"- Tracy Lawrence. Ok, now I'm starting to worry about myself. Has this song now been on two lists? Quite possibly the worst video ever made, not to mention probably THE dumbest country music video ever made. What in the world does this video have to do with the song?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bY4rk7D51M

"Carolina In My Mind"- James Taylor. Most people really think that James Taylor first album was "Sweet Baby James" in 1970. However, James Taylor actually released one album on the Beatles label Apple Records after meeting them in London in 1968. Obviously about his homesickness while in the UK, the song received very little commercial success, but is one of his most popular songs ever and seems to be played every time James Taylor picks up a guitar in front of people. His self titled debut album would be his only release with the Beatles, as he traveled back to the US shortly after and released his critically acclaimed and world famous follow up album, "Sweet Baby James".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gic6B-B6rpg

"All My Exes Live In Texas"- George Strait. Ok, now I'm getting ridiculous. You have to admit though, George Strait really is one of the coolest guys in music. I know I made fun of him in for his movie "Pure Country", but everyone else did too- just because you're a great singer doesn't mean you can act, and that's ok. Just keep giving us good country anthems like this.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMNw_-yUm_0

"Tennessee"- Arrested Development. Yes! I get to put these guys on here again. Like I said before, in 5th grade, you were not cool unless you had Arrested Development's debut and one and only hit album, "3 Years, 5 Months, and 2 Days In The Life Of......". Who's life? I have no idea. Why did this album make you cool? Because everyone had it. Why did everyone have it? Again, I have no idea. Maybe because Arrested Development was more of a gimmick group that was on the radio a lot just because they were so different and people were growing tired of gangsta rap. The album spawned 3 singles that reached the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100, including this one which was their debut track. This song was actually written about a sad incident about band member Speech's brother dying shortly after seeing him at his grandmother's funeral in Tennessee. Bonus points to Dionne Farris for leaving the group shortly after because she knew they were a gimmick.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VCdJyOAQYM

"Old Alabama"- Brad Paisley. Great song, great video, and great artist, but this video is almost disqualified right out off the bat for having Jeff Gordon in it. This latest single from Brad Paisley is from his latest album "This Is Country Music" and peaked at #38 on the Billboard Hot 100 after hitting #1 on the Country charts. Is it just me, or does Brad Paisley look a little bit like Marc Anthony without his cowboy hat on? I'm also gonna take away all possible bonus points for the band Alabama appearing in the video just because the video is filmed in North Carolina- really guys?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDRfrVMrV6Q

BONUS VIDEOS- "Empire State of Mind"- Jay-Z and Alicia Keys. Couldn't leave it off- one of my favorite songs ever.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UjsXo9l6I8

"State Your Peace"- Hootie and The Blowfish". Great version of their song "State Your Peace".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMJ0Jl0OQ0I

"City Love"- Priscilla Renea. My favorite song by Priscilla Renea- absolutely love this song!
